Description

West Bend Penguin Hot & Cold Server with 9-Piece Mid-Century Cocktail Set

A cohesive nine-piece mid-century barware ensemble anchored by the iconic West Bend "Penguin" Hot & Cold Server — double-wall insulated, chrome-plated with a white enamel lower body, dark plastic wing handles, and a turned wood-tone knob. The underside carries the full maker's mark: "West Bend Penguin Hot & Cold Serv., Product of The West Bend Company, West Bend, Wisconsin, Made in U.S.A." Dating to the 1950s–early 1960s, the Penguin was a fixture of postwar American entertaining and remains a recognizable Atomic Age icon.

The set also includes a tall cocktail shaker with frosted glass body, horizontal silver overlay banding, and a domed chrome lid with cap, alongside eight low-profile coupe glasses featuring frosted white stems and bases with clear bowls decorated in a silver overlay crosshatch grid. The shaker and glassware coordinate well with the Penguin server as an intentional ensemble.

CONDITION

Very Good overall with no remarkable damage. Some visible finish loss to the silver overlay decoration on the shaker and glasses. No chips or cracks noted; chrome on the Penguin server retains strong reflectivity with only light surface scratching to the base.
