Paolo Soleri Cosanti Originals Cast Bronze Wind Bell with Sail
A Paolo Soleri Cosanti Originals cast bronze wind bell, model #109, featuring the architect-sculptor's signature sand-cast bell form with applied geometric reliefs and the distinctive elongated armature suspending a diamond-shaped copper sail clapper weight. The bell carries the verdigris-and-rust patina characteristic of long outdoor display, with the Cosanti maker's mark visible in the cast surface. Designed and produced at the Cosanti studio in Paradise Valley, Arizona, where Soleri's apprentices have hand-cast these bells since the 1950s to fund the Arcosanti project.
CONDITION
Fair overall and displays well. Signs of outdoor use including heavy patina, surface oxidation, and weathering across the bronze; no remarkable structural damage. A manufacturing imperfection is present at the clapper, consistent with the hand-cast process.
