Folk Art Painted Cabinet with Rosemaling-Style Door Panels
Two-door, single-drawer painted wood cabinet of compact form, finished in olive-sage green with coral recessed door panels showcasing hand-applied rosemaling-style folk art. Each ogee-arched panel features scrolling acanthus leaves, circular medallion forms, and feathered flourishes rendered in navy, white, and green — a confident, graphic execution in the Scandinavian-American folk painting tradition popularized through the craft revival movements of the mid-to-late 20th century. Solid wood construction with dovetail joinery, turned wood knobs, and a shaped bracket base.
The decorative paint scheme appears to be a more recent overlay on an older utilitarian cabinet; paint chip evidence at edges and corners reveals multiple underlying paint layers. Lock present but no key; lock untested.
CONDITION
Good overall, presenting strongly from the front with vivid, intact decorative panels. Notable flaws include a vertical crack in the lower side panel, paint loss and chipping at top edges and corners exposing earlier coral and dark paint layers, a circular drill hole on the upper side from a former towel rod, and slight separation of the removable top board at the front edge. Key absent; lock untested.
