Hand-Knotted Jaipur Floral Round Rug, Wool with Silk Accents, 8' Dia.
A hand-knotted Jaipur round rug of contemporary Indian production, worked in a wool pile with artificial silk accents on a cotton foundation at approximately 81 knots per square inch. The field carries an all-over palmette-and-vine pattern on a soft taupe-beige ground, framed by a generous ivory border populated with large rosettes and curling acanthus leaves in shaded greens, ochres, rusts, and muted reds. Twin guard bands in tan and gold finish the perimeter, terminating in plush ivory cotton fringe.
Retains the original paper hangtag marked "Genuine Hand Woven Oriental Rug, Rug # M6056-63, Size 8'0" X 8'0", MIC."
CONDITION
Fair overall, with full pile, even color, and no staining noted. Shows wear from being under furniture as pictured, with an approximately 5" area of damage near the edge. Slight tonal variation within the field.
