Pioneer RT-707 Auto Reverse Direct Drive Reel-to-Reel Tape Deck, 1977
Pioneer RT-707 quartz-locked direct drive reel-to-reel tape deck, introduced in 1977 as the rack-mount sibling to the celebrated RT-909 and engineered around the same closed-loop dual-capstan transport that earned the 700-series its reputation in semi-pro studios and broadcast booths. The 7-inch deck runs four-track stereo at 9.5 and 19 cm/s with auto-reverse playback, pitch control, dual illuminated VU meters, four-digit tape counter with memory repeat, and selectable STD/LH bias and EQ. Front panel offers PHONES, dual MIC, and LINE inputs with independent level pots; the rear hosts DIN in/out, RCA play and record jacks, output level trims, and an unswitched accessory outlet rated 300W.
Rear panel retains the Pioneer maker plate, model RT-707 designation, serial number YI3637314, UL listing, and "Passed Pioneer" QC sticker. Made in Japan. Includes one Ampex 7-inch take-up reel and the original captive power cord.
CONDITION
Fair condition, fully functional and tested — powers on and reels spin; no further playback or recording testing performed. Visible scuffs, scratches, and paint loss to the black metal cabinet at the corners and edges, with surface scratches and a small mark to the brushed aluminum faceplate near the power switch.
