Bernhard Rohne for Mastercraft Acid-Etched Brass & Lacquer Dining Table
A 1970s pedestal dining table in the manner of Bernhard Rohne for Mastercraft Furniture of Grand Rapids, Michigan, with a sculpted black lacquer cloverleaf base wrapped at top and bottom by two acid-etched brass bands. The bands carry Rohne's signature abstract circuit-board motif — a dense, calligraphic field of etched line work with the warm patinated halos of oxidized copper-brass bleeding through the polished gilt surface, the look that defined Mastercraft's high-end "Etched Brass" line marketed alongside designs by Frank Mariani and William Doezema during the brand's late-1970s peak.
Topped with a removable .75" beveled smoked glass round, scaled for breakfast, game, or center-hall use.
CONDITION
Good overall and presenting strongly. Scuffing to the top edge of the lacquer base, and the glass top shows light surface scratches visible in raking light (see supplemental images). Brass bands retain their etched pattern with attractive natural patina to the copper-toned passages.
