Art Deco Bakelite Chrome Cake Tray with Eug. Faerber Solingen Pastry Server
A two-piece Art Deco serving set comprising a stepped octagonal chrome tray with butterscotch Bakelite handles and a German pastry server. The tray features a raised diamond-form well at center, tiered geometric edges, and ribbed Bakelite grips flanking the sides — quintessential 1930s Machine Age styling. The unmarked tray is paired with a chrome cake server marked Eug. Faerber, Solingen, Germany, fitted with a black and amber striped catalin handle and an etched floral motif along the triangular blade.
CONDITION
Good overall with strong display presence. The tray shows oxidation, surface scratches, and light scuffing across the chrome; the server blade exhibits utensil wear, tarnish, and faded etching. Bakelite and catalin handles remain intact with no visible cracks.
