Austin Productions 1989 Art Deco Greyhound Sculpture by A. Danel
A large stylized greyhound or whippet sculpture in cast plaster with a deep verdigris-bronze finish, the lean hound captured in a recumbent pose with neck arched skyward and forelegs extended. The sleek, attenuated lines and elongated muzzle draw directly from the Art Deco animalier tradition popularized by Bayre and Bugatti. Signed "A. Danel" along the underside and stamped "Austin Prod Inc 1989" near the base.
CONDITION
Very Good display condition with the patinated surface presenting strongly throughout. Several flea bites scattered across the body and several touched-up chips noted on close inspection. Felt bottom intact.
