Chinoiserie Serpentine Console Table with Hand-Painted Bird & Floral Decor
Two-drawer console with serpentine front, ebonized case, and coral-toned panels hand-painted in chinoiserie style. The shaped top features a perched songbird among flowering branches in gilt and muted greens, while the drawer fronts carry matching floral sprays and stylized hillscapes. Cast metal flower-form pulls and gracefully tapered cabriole legs complete the silhouette.
Commercially produced of solids and composites.
CONDITION
Good overall with the surface presenting cleanly and both drawers operating smoothly. Fading to the painted decoration, light distress consistent with the maker's intended aged finish, and minor surface deposits visible on close inspection.
