Full-Bodied Copper Eagle Weathervane with Directional & Iron Base
A spread-wing copper eagle weathervane perched atop a hollow copper sphere, paired with a directional arrow and cardinal points marked N, E, S, W. The eagle is rendered in repoussé sheet copper with hand-tooled feather detailing across the wings and breast, and the entire assembly has developed a deep brown patina with widespread verdigris bloom across the copper spheres, compass letters, and arrow shaft.
Mounted on a riveted iron tripod base for floor or display use rather than rooftop installation, the vane swivels freely on its central rod. The composition stacks two graduated copper orbs flanking the directional cross, terminating in the eagle finial above.
CONDITION
Good with honest signs of long outdoor service. Heavy verdigris and surface oxidation throughout the copper elements, scattered paint loss and rust to the iron base feet, and minor dings to the wing edges consistent with age. Fully assembled and rotates on its axis.
