Karastan Hunting Scene Persian Wool Rug, Pattern 759, 8'6" x 12'
Karastan power-loomed wool rug in the celebrated Hunting Scene pattern, woven with mounted riders, hounds, gazelle, and other animals chasing through a salmon-pink field framed by a deep garnet floral border. The central medallion blooms in soft sage and rose with intricate palmette work, surrounded by densely populated cartouches of figural and zoomorphic motifs that reward close viewing. Original Karastan label intact on the verso, marked Pattern 759, along with the period care-and-cleaning placard and serial tag Z382124.
Made in U.S.A., all-wool face, worsted yarn, mothproof — per the manufacturer's label. Finished with hand-knotted fringe at both ends.
CONDITION
Good overall with no tears, holes, stains, or odors and pile remaining full across the field. Some UV fading consistent with age and display, and expected wear to the fringe at both ends. Original maker's labels are present but show age toning and edge wear.
