Peruvian Handwoven Wool Textile with Pre-Columbian Figural Motifs
Handwoven wool textile from Peru featuring two stylized anthropomorphic figures rendered in vivid orange against a field of natural undyed wool in tan, ivory, and charcoal. The composition draws on Pre-Columbian iconography, with stepped fret borders, zigzag lightning forms, and geometric framing devices flanking the central figures. The flat tapestry weave shows variation in tone consistent with hand-spun, naturally dyed yarns.
Original sewn-in maker's tag reads "Sheep Wool 100% Hand Made in Peru" and remains intact at one corner.
CONDITION
Very Good condition with no remarkable damage, no stains, odors, tears, or rips. Label intact. Pile and structure are sound throughout.
