Will Ross Inc. Arts & Crafts Floor Lamp — Dual Bell, Dual Fixture, Pull Chain
A classic physician's floor lamp by Will Ross Inc. of Milwaukee, Wisconsin, this circa 1930s all-steel lamp features two independently controlled light fixtures stacked on a single pole — a configuration less commonly encountered than the standard single-shade Will Ross design. The upper fixture is a broad, flared bell-form shade suspended in a curved wire yoke and controlled by a side knob; below it, an inverted bell-shaped socket housing with an open base exposes the bulb and is operated by a pull-chain switch. Both fixtures deliver usable light independently or simultaneously. The entire lamp carries its original brown factory enamel finish, and the domed stepped base, turned urn finial, and period hardware are intact throughout.
This example comes from a physician's private collection — appropriate provenance for a lamp designed for exactly that setting.
CONDITION
Good — fully functional and tested; both fixtures operate independently as designed. Surface scuffing and paint chipping present throughout, most notably at the pole mid-section and base rim, consistent with age and institutional use. Yoke, pivot hardware, and both socket assemblies are structurally sound.
