Antique Golden Oak Chifforobe — 2 Mirrored Doors, 5 Drawers, Key
An antique American chifforobe in solid golden oak, dating to approximately 1895–1910. This substantial two-door combination piece exemplifies the Golden Oak period at its most functional: the right door conceals a full wardrobe compartment with a clothes rod, while the left door opens to a smaller upper cabinet — both doors faced with beveled mirror panels that remain bright and clear. Five dovetail-construction drawers run the left interior column, offering generous drawer storage alongside the hanging space. Hardware is original turned wooden knobs with brass hinges, and the piece includes its original key. Construction is solid wood throughout with a paneled back. The warm honey-amber quartersawn oak finish has developed an honest century-old patina without refinishing. An impressive, fully functional piece with strong original character — a rare find at this scale and completeness.
CONDITION
Good overall, with age-appropriate wear throughout. Both side panels show minor finish loss, visible in photos. Light scuffing and surface scratches are present consistent with a piece of this age and use history — no cracks, repairs, or structural concerns noted. No remarkable damage. Drawers operate on dovetail-constructed slides. Both beveled mirror panels are intact. Original key included.
