Description

Vintage Navajo Sterling Silver Belt Buckle — Turquoise & Coral

A vintage Navajo belt buckle in sterling silver, natural turquoise, and branch coral — handmade, heavy, and built to last.

The face is worked on a repoussé-textured hammered silver ground framed by a twisted rope border with applied corner balls. A large natural turquoise cabochon anchors the center — vivid sky blue with heavy irregular dark matrix from Arizona closed-mine production — flanked by deeply chased feather forms and a flowering arrangement of twisted wire stems, each terminal curled into a tight rosette. Branch coral appears in six placements: two oval drops above the turquoise and four additional cabochons at the corners, warm orange-red with the natural irregular form of genuine material. Applied silver shot punctuates the composition throughout.

CONDITION

Excellent, with authentic patina. Natural oxidation has settled into the recessed areas of the relief work in the manner of a piece that has aged honestly0
