A commanding statement ring built around a large baroque freshwater cultured pearl of exceptional character. The pearl's body is a deep aubergine with rolling waves of peacock iridescence — violet, copper, rose, and lime-gold — that shift dramatically under light. No two positions read the same color.
The sterling silver setting is hand-fabricated in an organic, sculptural style consistent with studio art jewelry of the mid-to-late 20th century. The bezel follows the pearl's natural contour with a scalloped, ruffled edge, and the open-cutwork shank continues the fluid, nature-referencing aesthetic. The silver frames rather than constrains the stone.
At nearly an inch and a half across the face and rising almost three-quarters of an inch off the finger, this is a wearable sculptural object. Stamped .925 on the shank. No additional maker's mark identified.
CONDITION
Very good overall. The silver shows light patina in the recesses of the cutwork, consistent with age and befitting the organic aesthetic. The pearl's nacre is intact and the iridescence is strong and undiminished. A small natural void is visible on the pearl face — a feature of baroque pearl formation, not damage. No chips, cracks, or repairs noted. Polishing left to buyer's preference.
