Taxco 925 Sterling Shell Mosaic Panel Bracelet — MOP Abalone Alabaster
A bold and beautifully constructed panel link bracelet in 925 sterling silver, hallmarked TC — a registered Taxco, Mexico silversmith with surname initial C, working in the post-1979 era. Five wide square panels are each inlaid with a precise geometric mosaic of shell materials: iridescent abalone, pink and white mother-of-pearl, dark lip shell, and alabaster. The tile work is meticulous — cut sections laid in a grid pattern that creates a shifting, light-responsive surface ranging from deep teal and blue-green to soft pinks and warm cream depending on angle.
Chunky barrel hinges connect the panels with solid articulation, and the bracelet closes with a toggle clasp. The overall construction is substantial and well-made — 32 grams of silver wearing like a wide cuff on the wrist.
Taxco shell inlay work of this quality and scale is increasingly sought by collectors of Mexican silver. Condition is good; see below.
CONDITION
Good. All shell and alabaster tiles are intact and secure in their settings. The silver shows light surface patina and minor scuffs on the hinge barrels consistent with age and use — no dents, no structural issues, clasp functions correctly. Polishing is left to the buyer.
