Antique PFAFF Treadle Base Table German Cast Iron
Antique PFAFF treadle sewing machine base, dating to circa 1890–1915, repurposed as a functional table. Manufactured in Germany, this cast iron frame features the raised “PFAFF” name, ornate Victorian-era scrollwork, and a decorative central medallion—reflecting the company’s early emphasis on both durability and design.
The base retains its original treadle pedal, large spoked flywheel, and linkage components, presenting a complete and visually striking example of early sewing machine engineering. Pfaff was one of Singer’s प्रमुख international competitors, and their bases are less commonly found in the U.S., adding to its appeal.
Finished with a 1" thick wood top, likely a later addition, the piece blends industrial history with rustic style—ideal as a console, side table, or statement piece.
Condition:
Good condition overall; sturdy and structurally sound. Shows signs of use including visible scuffs and dings to both the iron base and wood top. No remarkable damage noted. Mechanical components appear intact but are untested.
