Leaded Stained Glass Butterfly Panel — Amber & Red, Wood Frame
A lead-came stained glass hanging panel in the tradition of the American studio craft revival, centered on a monarch-inspired butterfly rendered in warm amber and deep red cathedral glass with a cream opalescent body. The wings are articulated through geometric lead lines that segment the glass into faceted planes — a design approach requiring precision cutting and skilled soldering that distinguishes this from the simpler copper-foil technique. The surrounding field of clear glass is bisected by diagonal lead tracery, framed by a border of swirling pink and peach opalescent glass that glows warmly when backlit. The composition is set into a solid wood frame finished with a 22" brass-tone link chain — ready to hang.
CONDITION
Excellent. All glass panels intact with no cracks or missing segments; lead lines are tight and solder joints clean throughout. The solid wood frame presents well with no significant damage; hanging chain is complete and functional.
