Hooker Telluride Console & Lighted Bookcase Hutch
This Telluride Entertainment Console and Hutch is a cathedral-scaled display wall built for rooms that can hold a statement. The hutch upper section presents three arched bays divided by fluted pilasters, each apex lit by a built-in canister light controlled by a three-intensity touch switch — the kind of illumination that turns a wall of books, art glass, or barware into a gallery. A full dentil crown molding runs the cornice, and scrolled, reeded columns frame the case on all sides. Construction throughout is hardwood solids and cherry veneers finished in distressed black paint with a reddish-brown rub-through — a 16-step finish process Hooker is known for — with deliberate physical distressing that gives the piece an aged, library-worn authority rather than a showroom sheen. Door panels on the console base are faced in carved embossed leather set within nailhead-trimmed frames, adding warmth and texture against the dark field. Hooker Furniture has been making upper-tier traditional furnishings in Martinsville, Virginia since 1924; comparable pieces from the Telluride bookcase line retail new today above $7,000 for the base and hutch combined.
The console base provides three drawers across the top tier, two side doors each enclosing an adjustable shelf, and an open center bay with one adjustable shelf — well-suited to repurpose as a bar, display case, or closed storage. Three built-in electrical outlets and leveling feet are standard. Original Hooker Furniture hang tag, care booklet, and assembly instructions are included.
Condition:
Good, Minor Scuffs Visible (most obscured once hutch is installed), Scratches and Other Signs of Use in drawers, No Remarkable Damage, Displays Excellent in Any Home
