Demilune Cabinet — Marble Top, Burl Panels, Rococo Carving, Amini Style
This demilune cabinet delivers Old World design with solid wood construction, hand-applied carving, and premium materials throughout — consistent with the output of Michael Amini (AICO) during their peak production years, though no maker's label is present. The half-moon case is topped with a fitted stone-clad slab in warm Emperador tones, caramel and chocolate with characteristic fossil-style patterning. Below, a deeply carved acanthus-leaf frieze runs the full curved apron. Both doors feature raised burl panels in shaped molding, crowned with bold Rococo scrollwork cartouches in acanthus and floral relief. Cast metal scrolled S-pulls in an antiqued silver finish complete the hardware. Bun feet with carved acanthus collars anchor the base. The interior provides one fixed shelf with 11.5 inches of clearance per bay, finished in solid wood throughout.
CONDITION Good. Carving, hardware, and stone top are all intact and presentable. The finish above the carved door panels shows craquelure — a fine network of surface crackling consistent with intentional distressed lacquer finishing on pieces of this style. There is finish wear and light scratching visible on the interior when the right door is open, and a small imperfection to the lower right of the case exterior.
