Escher "Circle Limit IV" Offset Lithograph Poster — Phoenix Editions, Framed 

M.C. Escher's Circle Limit IV (Heaven and Hell) as an authorized offset lithograph poster published by Phoenix Editions of San Francisco, produced during the transitional era following Escher's 1972 death when US reproduction rights were actively licensed for commercial distribution. The composition is among Escher's most intellectually demanding — interlocking angels and bat-winged demons locked in radial symmetry across a circular field, each figure diminishing toward the outer boundary in a mathematically precise demonstration of hyperbolic geometry. Escher embedded his monogram "MCE" and the date "VII–'60" directly into the image, as he did in the original 1960 woodcut from which this reproduction derives. Tonal contrast is strong throughout, rendering the tessellation with the clarity the image demands.

Housed in a metal frame with a terracotta mat. CONDITION

Good. The print surface is clean with no foxing, fading, or toning visible. The metal frame shows scuffing and tape residue consistent with prior display or handling; glass was removed prior to sale and the print is unaffected.
