Where traditional Tang Dynasty horses prioritize anatomical naturalism, this interpretation reduces the form to pure sculptural weight: the body a sweeping mass, the mane a dark ridge, the whole piece commanding presence through simplicity rather than detail. The surface carries a dramatic full-body craquelure in rich amber graduating to near-black at the base, legs, and mane ridge — a technique in which the glaze is formulated to crack in a controlled, even pattern upon cooling.
