Arts & Crafts Leaded Stained Glass Window Panel — Rose Motif, 43 Panes
A leaded glass window panel in the Arts & Crafts tradition, constructed with lead came in a rectilinear grid of 43 individual glass panes across two distinct textures — hammered and smooth clear — creating a subtle, light-refracting field. The central motif depicts a stylized rose in mottled amber and ruby glass, flanked by green glass leaves, with an amber connector descending to an elongated ivory oval and a round pale blue glass cabochon. The composition reflects Glasgow School influence, characteristic of English domestic glazing from the 1900–1920 period. Outer frame is zinc with period corner bosses. Wall mountable; hanging chains attached at the upper corners via bar-and-ring hardware.
CONDITION
Good. Leadwork and decorative motif are intact and the panel displays well. One clear background pane shows a star crack radiating from the edge. Minor paint and putty loss along sections of the outer zinc frame.
