Focal JMlab Chorus SW 700 active subwoofer, designed and manufactured in Saint-Étienne, France, circa late 1990s–early 2000s. Part of Focal’s well-regarded Chorus series, this model represents the brand’s transition from JMlab to modern Focal identity, offering refined, audiophile-focused performance in a compact footprint. The black ash cabinet houses a front-firing driver (approx. 10") with intact cone and surround, and includes the original fabric grille. Maker markings are present on both the rear amplifier plate and underside label.
Powered by a 75W RMS integrated amplifier, the SW 700 is equipped for both stereo and home theater integration, featuring 5.1 LFE input, stereo RCA line in/out, variable crossover (40–160Hz), adjustable volume, phase control (0°/180°/Auto), and auto power mode. Designed with Focal’s emphasis on tight, controlled, musical bass rather than exaggerated output, it performs especially well in hi-fi systems and small to mid-sized rooms. A desirable French-built subwoofer that continues to hold solid appeal on the secondary market—complete with original grille and confirmed functionality.
Condition
Very good condition overall, fully tested and functioning as intended. The driver cone and surround are intact, and the original grille presents cleanly. There is a minor imperfection at the lower right front edge, visible only upon close inspection. The cabinet and finish otherwise show light, typical wear consistent with age and use, without notable damage affecting performance or presentation.
