Antique Wooden Tortilla Press Primitive Folk Tool Iron Hardware
This antique wooden tortilla press, likely late 19th to early 20th century, is crafted from solid hardwood with iron hardware and a classic hand-operated lever design. The press features a 7" x 7" surface, hinged base, and upright compression arm that applies downward pressure—consistent with traditional tortilla or flatbread preparation tools. Its heavy, utilitarian construction and visible hand-worked details reflect practical, small-scale kitchen use.
The wood shows a naturally aged patina with prominent grain, surface wear, and darkened areas from use. Iron hinges and brackets remain present, though some hardware appears to have been replaced over time. A compelling example of early culinary equipment that also displays beautifully as rustic décor.
Condition:
In good condition overall with age-appropriate wear. There is visible cracking, surface wear, and areas of wood loss, including an absent foot. The hardware shows oxidation and some replacement elements. Structurally stable and suitable for display—please review photos closely.
