2 Sterling Salad Serving Sets Wood Handles Whiting Lily Cheltenham
Collection of two antique salad serving sets, each consisting of a wooden spoon and matching fork with sterling silver handles. One set is by Frank Whiting in the “Lily” pattern, marked “Sterling,” featuring detailed lily blossoms and flowing Art Nouveau styling. The second set is attributed to Cheltenham & Co, also marked sterling, with a complementary floral motif and classic English design. Both sets likely date to the early 20th century.
The contrast of warm carved wood and ornate sterling handles gives these pieces both functional appeal and decorative presence. Ideal for entertaining or display, this grouping offers a nice pairing of American and English silver craftsmanship.
A distinctive four-piece serving group—perfect for collectors or refined table settings.
Condition:
Overall good to fair condition. Wooden components show visible use wear and surface marks. One handle has a noticeable repair at the joint with visible adhesive, and there is slight separation at another collar. Sterling handles retain strong detail with tarnish present; polishing has been left to the buyer. Structurally sound overall.
