Description

American Cut Glass Eleanor Pattern #326 Decanter & Stopper

A lead crystal wine decanter in the Eleanor pattern (Pattern #326) by American Cut Glass, one of the named patterns documented by Replacements, Ltd. and recognized among American Brilliant Period collectors. The Eleanor pattern combines pinwheel and fan motifs across the upper body with a broad band of deep diamond crosshatch cutting at the base — a full-coverage cutting program that showcases the weight and brilliance of the lead crystal blank. The tall faceted neck terminates in a squared, flared collar lip; the piece rests on a plain disc foot.

The matching cut crystal stopper carries an all-over diamond crosshatch body with a bell profile and ground peg fit to the neck. Eleanor pattern pieces with original stoppers are increasingly difficult to assemble and are sought by collectors building complete sets.

CONDITION

Excellent. Crystal is perfectly clear and brilliantly bright, with sharp, well-defined cutting throughout the body and stopper. No chips, cracks, flakes, haze, or damage of any kind.
