Knotty Pine Tall Chest — Baroque Revival, 6 Drawers, Brass Hardware

A tall chest from the same Baroque Revival suite as the dresser and nightstands, in matching rustic cherry finish. The serpentine-front case stacks six drawers in two visual tiers divided by a stepped molding break, flanked by reeded pilasters and carved acanthus-scroll capitals at the top corners. The shallow top drawer carries paired floral brass knobs; the five lower drawers use the same cast scrollwork bail pulls found throughout the suite. The knotty pine's swirling grain and natural pin knots read clearly across all drawer fronts, giving the piece its hand-crafted warmth. Turned bun feet complete the base.

CONDITION

Fair. Case is structurally sound with all drawers operating and hardware intact. The top surface shows fading and finish loss, with a poorly executed touch-up to the top left corner that is visible on close inspection. Scuffs and scratches are present throughout the case and pilaster faces consistent with years of use. Note: the distressed quality of the finish makes some surface variation characteristic of the design — inspect photos carefully to differentiate.
