Green Marble-Top Empire Guéridon Side Tables — Pair, Brass
A matched pair of Empire-style guéridon side tables, each carrying a polished round green marble top (1/2" thick) above a solid and composite wood apron mounted with an oval gilt-brass medallion at each leg juncture. Three reeded column legs descend to a tripartite concave platform base, with gilt-brass ferrule collars at the top and bottom transitions. The silhouette follows French Empire prototypes directly — spare, architectural, structured around the triumphal column motif that defined Napoleonic-era furniture. Both tables are sturdy with no wobble or instability.
The pair presents symmetrically, with well-matched marble character and consistent hardware patina across both pieces.
CONDITION
Good. Both tables are structurally sound and stable, with hardware retaining strong gilt color. Wear to the wood finish is noticeable on the bases and aprons, consistent with use — including light scuffs and minor finish variation. Marble tops are intact with no chips or cracks visible.
