St. Michael Archangel Hand-Carved Dough Bowl Painting — Wall Mountable, Signed
A hand-carved wooden dough bowl used as the support for an oil painting of St. Michael the Archangel in full warrior aspect — armored breastplate, gold pteryges, billowing red cloak, and fully spread wings, lance raised against a dark painted ground. The natural concavity of the bowl gives the composition a dimensional quality unique to the form. A red cursive signature appears lower right on the painted face; the reverse is painted ox-blood red and fitted with wire hanging hardware for wall display.
CONDITION
Good. Paint is vivid and well-adhered with no remarkable damage to the composition. Minor scuffing and paint wear to the reverse consistent with age and handling.
