Whiting Sterling Silver Oval Tray — Pattern 1100
A small oval sterling silver tray by Whiting Manufacturing Company, stamped on the reverse with the firm's lion mark, "STERLING," and pattern number 1100 — placing this squarely within Whiting's catalogued hollowware production from the late 19th to early 20th century. The form is minimal and purposeful: a shallow flanged rim flowing into a raised central platform with no applied ornament.
CONDITION Good. The form is intact with no dents or structural issues; original silver surface remains visible across the piece. Age tarnish is present throughout and surface scratching is consistent with use — the piece would respond well to polishing.
