Antique Adlake Mopac Railroad Switch Lock with Key Chain
Antique Adlake (Adams & Westlake Co.) railroad switch lock marked “MOPAC LINES,” made for use on the Missouri Pacific Railroad. Dating to the mid-20th century and based on a 1936 patented design, this substantial steel lock embodies the rugged utility of American rail history. The shackle is stamped “M of W” (Maintenance of Way), and the reverse features the classic Adlake script logo along with additional factory markings.
Complete with its attached 9-inch chain and a working barrel key, this piece offers both authenticity and function. The industrial form, rich patina, and clear railroad markings give it strong display presence—perfect for collectors of railroadiana or early industrial hardware.
Condition:
Good antique condition with rust, oxidation, and surface wear consistent with age and railroad use. Fully functional and tested, with markings remaining legible. Chain intact.
Dimensions:
Lock: 3.5 x 3 inches
Chain Length: 9 inches
Soup can shown for scale in photos.
