45 Drawer Hardware Cabinet — Oak Fronts with Galvanized Steel, Shop Use
A mid-century hardware and automotive shop parts cabinet built in the style of a library card catalog, with a steel sheet back panel set in a wood frame and 45 individual drawers fitted with cast metal label holders and pull tabs. Drawer bodies are galvanized steel with oak fronts painted cream; original raised-letter Dymo embossed tape labels survive across numerous drawers with designations including Jeep, Mercedes, Spark Plugs, Nuts/Screws/Bolts, Large Nails, Elec./Plugs, and Antique Frames — intact evidence of decades of working shop use. Solid wood side panels retain original chalk and marker notations from the same period.
CONDITION
Good. The cabinet is sturdy and solid with all 45 drawers present. Paint is heavily chipped and flaking across most drawer fronts; some handles show warping, and several drawers are warped enough to make them difficult to open.
