Sun Face Kachina Doll — Signed, Wood Suede Feathers Fur, Log Base & Branch
A signed Sun Face (Sun God) kachina doll carved from wood and dressed in suede, natural feathers, and fur trim. The painted mask features a geometric teal, red, and yellow four-panel design with black symbolic markings and a large radiating headdress of brown-tipped feathers — characteristic of the Sun Face figure. The body is painted brown with white dry-brushed detailing and dressed in a black felt fringe kilt over a suede apron with white lightning zigzag motifs. White fur accents the wrists, ankles, and collar. The piece is mounted on a natural log cross-section base with an arching branch rising alongside it.
The lot includes a detached branch element topped with a matching painted disc shield in teal, red, yellow, and black with a white dot border, ringed with feathers.
CONDITION
Good. Colors on the mask and disc shield remain vivid and the feathers are full; fur trim is intact and secure.
