5” Papago Olla Basket Wheat Stitch — Traditional Desert Weave
Charming Papago handwoven basket in a classic olla form, featuring a rounded body, narrowed neck, and softly flared rim. This small basket is distinguished by its wheat-stitch pattern, giving the surface a lively, textured rhythm, while the darker wrapped accents at the rim add contrast and visual definition. Its sculptural profile and finely worked natural fibers make it an especially attractive example of Southwest basketry.
Compact and full of character, this piece displays beautifully on a shelf, in a cabinet, or grouped with other Native basketry. A lovely decorative example of Papago craftsmanship with strong form, texture, and presence.
Condition:
Good condition with no damage. Light wear consistent with age and handling, with fibers intact and the basket holding its shape nicely.
