16" Capula Terracotta Olla Pots Punteado Decor
Striking pair of hand-coiled terracotta olla vessels, richly adorned in the traditional punteado style—delicate dotted rosettes in cream and green dancing across a warm, burnished clay surface. With their full, rounded bodies, flared necks, and three sculpted loop handles, these pieces embody the spirit of Mexican folk pottery, likely inspired by the renowned ceramic traditions of Capula, Michoacán.
Each vessel carries the unmistakable charm of the artisan’s hand, from subtle shaping variations to the rhythmic, hand-painted motifs that wrap the form in lively pattern. Bold in scale and earthy in tone, they make a captivating statement—equally at home in a curated collection or as standalone decorative anchors in a rustic or Southwestern interior.
Condition
In good vintage condition overall, with firing imperfections throughout consistent with hand-coiled construction. One pot has an approximately 1-inch chip to the rim, while the other has a smaller chip of about 0.25 inches. Additional surface wear, scuffs, and glaze irregularities are present, all in keeping with their handmade nature and age.
Dimensions
Dimensions: 16 x 13 inches (Height x Diameter)
