William Kolliker Etching 37/100 — SW Adobe Pueblo Star, Beveled Wood Frame
A hand-colored limited edition etching by William Augustin Kolliker (Bern, Switzerland, 1905 – El Paso, Texas, 1995), depicting a Southwestern winter scene: adobe pueblo structures silhouetted against a turbulent swirling sienna and ochre sky, with a luminous cross-star radiating from the upper right and small figures in a snowy foreground. Kolliker was a listed American artist who relocated to El Paso around 1955 and became one of the city's foremost Southwestern printmakers and painters, with work held in the El Paso Museum of Art and the Johnson Presidential Library. His etchings were published by Copperstone Press, El Paso. The work is pencil-signed lower right and numbered 37/100 in the lower left margin, and is presented under glass with a cream mat in a beveled wood frame.
CONDITION
Good. The etching presents with strong contrast and clean color throughout. A crease is present at the lower right corner of the sheet. The beveled wood frame shows minor surface marks consistent with age.
