John A. White "Open Gate" Signed SW Mission Print 180/450 — Framed Triple Mat
A limited edition panoramic print of Open Gate by Oklahoma watercolorist John A. White, a professional artist since 1984 whose award-winning works span Native American and Southwest landscape subjects and are held in Oklahoma's permanent state collection at the Supreme Court Building of the State Capitol and at Lake Murray Lodge. The horizontal composition depicts a New Mexico Pueblo-style adobe mission complex — its arched gateway crowned by a cross, compound walls receding into bare winter cottonwoods and piñon — with two polished blackware vessels anchoring the foreground, evoking the celebrated pottery tradition of San Ildefonso Pueblo. Rendered in White's characteristic loose watercolor style on deckle-edged paper, the print is pencil-numbered 180/450 and hand-signed lower right, consistent with documented examples from this edition.
Presented in a natural oak frame with triple matting behind glass: a wide tan field bordered by a decorative inner mat with Southwest-motif zigzag corner accents in mauve and black, finished with a narrow black liner.
CONDITION Excellent. No damage. Colors are vibrant, deckle edges are fully intact, and the frame and matting present without flaws.
