Description

Cynthie Fisher "To Each His Own" Elk Print AP 111/120 — Oak Frame

"To Each His Own" is a 1997 artist proof print by Cynthie Fisher, a Hamilton, Montana wildlife artist whose zoology background informs her photorealistic, dramatically lit compositions. The large horizontal image depicts a bugling bull elk managing his herd on an open Rocky Mountain hillside in autumn. Twisted deadfall, scattered conifers, and amber grasses fill the foreground. A panoramic range of sunlit peaks and a full harvest moon anchor the background. Fisher's signature low-light palette bathes the bull in deep gold while cool purples recede into the mountain distance. The print is signed twice — in gold ink within the image at lower right, and in pencil in the lower margin with the A.P. number. At only 120 impressions, the artist proof edition is separate from and more limited than the standard numbered release.

The print is framed and double-matted behind glass in an oak frame with a brown suede-textured outer mat and cream inner liner. A brass title plaque on the lower mat reads "To Each His Own by Cynthie Fisher."
