Don Stivers "The Premonition" Ltd Ed Lithograph 82/1100 — Custer, 7th Cavalry
A limited edition lithographic print published by Stivers Publishing in 1990, depicting Lt. Col. George Armstrong Custer's farewell to his wife Libbie at the Little Heart River on May 18, 1876 — the last time she would see him before the Battle of the Little Bighorn. Stivers renders the scene with characteristic period authority: Custer astride his horse in buckskin fringe, a 7th Cavalry trooper in full dress uniform steadying the bridle, women in period mourning black, and American flags carried aloft by the column forming in the tree-shadowed background. The print is signed in pencil lower left and numbered 82/1100, with "stivers 1990 ©" inscribed lower right. This was a special edition commissioned by the Ft. Leavenworth Memorial Chapel Association to raise funds for a memorial pipe organ honoring the 7th Cavalry.
Presented in a dark walnut-toned wood frame with a double mat — cream parchment outer over a brown inner liner — and a script title plaque centered below the image. Full documentation is affixed verso.
