Since The Rediscovery Of Pottery Shards By A Farmer, In The 1960’s Or So, The Paquime Indians Of Northern Mexico Have Created A Newly Prosperous And Creative Life For Many. Jorge Is One Of The Fine Potters In This Group Of Descendants Of Pueblo Indians Who Moved South Hundreds Of Years Ago. He, And They, Use The Same Techniques As Their Pueblo Cousins: Gathering And Mixing The Clay, Coiling, Smoothing And Forming The Pieces, Painting, Incising Or Carving Designs, And Pit -Firing – All By Hand. Some Of The Traditional Designs Are Very Like Hopi And Other Pueblo Motifs.
