Description

Barley Twist Leather Bench — Wrought Iron Stretcher

A Spanish Colonial Revival-style bench with a padded seat upholstered in three-panel brown leather, edged with a piped leather welt and set into a solid hardwood frame. The four machine-turned barley-twist legs terminate in bun feet and are joined at each end by shaped wooden stretchers; a pair of crossed wrought iron rods spans the length between them, secured at each leg with turned finials and scroll details — hallmarks of the Spanish Colonial Revival aesthetic prominent in American furniture production from the 1980s through 2000s.

CONDITION

Good. The bench is structurally sound with upholstery that retains its shape and firm padding. The leather surface shows noticeable wear and scratches across the top and sides. The wood frame displays scattered light scuffs consistent with use.
