Stanley Furniture Costa Del Sol Dresser — 12 Dovetail Drawers, 2 Doors, Jewelry Inserts
This large Stanley Furniture dresser belongs to the Costa Del Sol collection, a line drawing on Italian and Mediterranean influences rendered in a warm, sun-washed Cordova finish with hand-applied artistic distressing throughout. The case is organized across four tiers: five shallow drawers in the top bank separated by fluted pilasters; a middle section with two decorative drawers featuring gold-on-black scrollwork fronts and green felt-lined jewelry compartments, flanked by two raised-panel cabinet doors each with an adjustable interior shelf; two full-width center drawers; and a lower register with one wide central drawer flanked by two corner drawers — twelve dovetail drawers and two doors in total. Hardware mixes rope-twist bail pulls on the wider drawers, horseshoe stirrup pulls on the outer narrow drawers, and a brass lion's-head ring pull on the center top drawer. The stepped cornice, molded pilasters, and multi-tiered plinth base give the piece a distinctly architectural profile. A burned "Stanley Furniture" brand mark appears inside the drawer.
Two of the scrollwork-front drawers open to reveal removable felt-lined jewelry grids with 84 individual divided compartments across both drawers.
CONDITION Very Good. The finish presents with rich, even color and all twelve drawers operate smoothly with all hardware intact. Light scratches consistent with age appear throughout; no structural damage or missing elements observed.
