Ande Rooney Demand Kayo Chocolate Steel Advertising Sign
Colorful “Demand Kayo – It’s Real Chocolate” advertising sign produced by Ande Rooney of Port Ewen, New York, a maker known for high-quality porcelain enamel reproduction advertising signs inspired by early 20th-century American graphics. The design features bold navy KAYO lettering against a bright yellow background with red accents, along with a cheerful child carrying a bottle of Kayo Chocolate Drink, a product widely promoted in soda fountains and grocery stores during the early 1900s.
According to the reverse manufacturer label, Ande Rooney signs were crafted by layering enamel made from ground glass crystals onto steel plates and kiln-firing them at approximately 1350°F, producing the glossy finish and durability associated with classic porcelain advertising signs. This heavy steel example captures the nostalgic style of country store and soda fountain advertising and makes a great display piece for a kitchen, diner-themed space, garage, or advertising collection.
Condition:
Good condition with visible surface wear consistent with age and display. There are light scratches and small marks present on the surface, and the reverse shows typical handling and mounting wear. The colors remain bright and the graphics display well overall. Please review photos for full details.
