Chinese Blue & White Porcelain Soup Jar Pair — Lotus & Landscape, 6 Pcs
A matched pair of Chinese blue and white porcelain covered soup jars, each with a cylindrical body, paired loop handles, and a domed outer lid with knob finial. One jar carries a Ming-revival lotus-scroll design — large peony-lotus blooms rising from scrolling stems amid ruyi clouds on the body, floral vines on the dome, and a lappet band at the base. The second is painted in the Canton landscape tradition with pavilions, arched bridges, trees, and figures across the body, with diaper and wave-scroll borders framing the scene. Both are rendered in crisp cobalt underglaze on a white porcelain ground consistent with Jingdezhen manufacture.
Each jar is fitted with a secondary flat inner lid bearing concentric ring decoration — six pieces in total.
CONDITION
Very good; underglaze blue is crisp and the glaze surface is bright on both jars. Minor glaze pooling is present at the lid-seat seam on the landscape jar, and light surface scratching is visible to the interior of the lotus jar. All six lids seat properly with no chips or cracks observed.
