Tang Style Cast Stone Prancing Horse Statue Garden Sculpture
Tang Dynasty–style cast stone sculpture depicting a prancing horse with raised foreleg and dramatically arched neck, mounted on an integral rectangular base. The stylized form, rounded body, and expressive posture are reminiscent of traditional Tang horse figures that celebrated the strength and elegance of imperial horses during China’s Tang Dynasty (618–907). This piece is unmarked and appears to be a later decorative interpretation of that classic form.
The sculpture retains remnants of dark green paint over a lighter base layer, now heavily weathered from age and outdoor exposure. Extensive paint loss and surface texture create a rustic aged appearance that complements its sculptural character. A striking decorative object ideal for garden display, equestrian décor, or collectors of Asian-inspired art.
Condition:
Fair condition with age-appropriate wear. Paint is chipped throughout with visible surface wear, small chips to the cast stone, and evidence of previous restoration. Weathering consistent with outdoor display is present. Structurally stable and displays well.
Dimensions:
12 x 13 x 6 inches (Height x Width x Depth)
Weight: 10 lbs
