Valley Forge "Best" 50-Star Cotton Bunting American Flag — Appliquéd Stars

A vintage American flag from Valley Forge Flag Company's "Best" line, constructed of 100% cotton bunting. The fifty stars are individually cut and appliquéd to the navy canton with machine-stitched edges — a hallmark of quality commercial flag construction. The canvas header is reinforced with a sewn-in sleeve, and the stripes are boldly saturated red and cream cotton.

CONDITION Fair. The flag retains strong color in the red and blue fields, but presents multiple areas of wear. The seam joining the canton to the red stripe field has torn open along several inches with visible fraying and fiber separation, multiple appliquéd stars show yellowing and fraying at the points, and a brown stain approximately 2–3 inches across is present on one white stripe.
