Description

1968 New Mexico License Plate
A 1968 New Mexico license plate featuring the state’s iconic Zia sun symbol and the well-known slogan “Land of Enchantment.” The plate displays serial number T 5365, with the Zia sun emblem used as the separator between the letter prefix and the numbers—an element closely associated with New Mexico’s distinctive plate designs.

Finished in a coral/salmon background with raised black embossed lettering, the plate showcases the bold mid-century style used by the state during this period. The Zia symbol, derived from a sacred emblem of the Zia Pueblo, has appeared on New Mexico license plates since the 1920s and is a recognizable symbol of the state.

An appealing piece for license plate collectors, vintage automobile enthusiasts seeking period pieces, or collectors of Southwestern Americana. It also makes a striking decorative display for a garage, workshop, or transportation memorabilia collection.

Condition:
Good vintage condition with visible wear consistent with age and prior use. There are scratches, edge wear, and small areas of paint loss, particularly around the corners and raised characters. The plate remains solid with clear numbering and strong display appeal.

Dimensions:
Approximately 12 x 6 inches
