Mid-Century Black Panther TV Lamp — Gloss Ceramic, Tested & Working
Classic mid-century ceramic TV lamp depicting a crouching black panther poised over a stylized rock base. Finished in a rich, high-gloss black glaze, this sculptural lamp casts a warm ambient glow through its openwork body. Produced in the 1950s–60s, this style was popular among American pottery makers such as Lane & Co. and Royal China & Novelty, though this example is unmarked. It features a felted base and an internal bulb socket accessible from the rear.
A defining example of mid-century American lighting design, blending function and bold sculptural form—perfect for collectors of MCM décor or as a statement accent piece on a console or sideboard.
Condition:
Good condition overall and fully functional. Tested and operational with no cracks, chips, or structural damage noted. Gloss glaze remains deep and reflective. Original switch knob is damaged, and the lamp currently remains on unless unplugged—easily remedied by replacing the switch or using a smart plug.
